An excellent, non-invasive way to brighten your smile is tooth whitening. For simple cases, our office sells prescription strength whitening strips, which are applied daily on the front surface of the teeth until the desired color is achieved. For a more drastic improvement in tooth shade, we also recommend custom-fit trays and whitening gel, which offer the ability to remake a smile in just a matter of weeks. Some patients do report mild tooth or gum sensitivity after applying the whitening compound, however this is temporary and resolves quickly following treatment.

In select cases, a front tooth may be a candidate for porcelain laminate veneers. This procedure involves shaving down a few millimeters from just the front surface of the tooth. After taking an accurate impression, a custom-matched, beautiful porcelain laminate veneer is fabricated by the laboratory, and is ultimately bonded to the tooth itself. This treatment is ideal for anterior teeth which may be discolored or disfigured from previous composite bondings, cavities, or fractures, and represents a less-invasive treatment than a full dental crown. Veneers can be done in multiples to cover several front teeth for uniformity, or as single units as well.

When a front tooth is slightly chipped, fractured, or worn, a bonding may be placed in the area to restore the missing segment. Consisting of dental resin, the tooth bonding is chemically adhered to the tooth structure to provide strength and stability. In addition, dental bondings are closely matched to the underlying tooth in order to afford a natural look with a seamless transition from tooth to resin.
